National Directors’ and Officers’ Liability Insurance
A brief overview explaining the importance of understanding the risks involved when on a Volunteer Board, and how to minimize these risks to Board Members. This menu also explains the implications an organization’s annual budget/revenue will mean in terms of limits and premiums with an easy-to-read chart.
The Directors and Officers Liability Insurance is now insured by Great American Insurance Group. This insurer has been able to offer Volunteer Canada members a 5% reduction in premium from the previous term as well as enhanced coverage for 2010 to 2011 policy period. Enhancements include but are not limited to:
- Program aggregate is no longer restricted to $50,000,000
- Insurer must give 90 days prior notice of non-renewal (from 30 days)
- The option to purchase an Extended Reporting Period at 40% of the premium (from 50%)
