Logins and Passwords

A valid password is at least six and not more that 15 alphanumeric characters. Therefore, you can use the digits 0 through 9, the letters a through z or the uppercase letters A through Z. The system rejects accented characters and punctuations in password fields. Passwords are case-sensitive. The password "ABC123" is not the same as "Abc123". If you forget your password, an Aon representative can expire your forgotten password and give you a temporary password. Aon does not know the password that you select and therefore cannot provide it to you. Your password to this site should be kept secret at all times. Aon representatives will never ask for your password.

E & O Certificate Security

Your E&O certificate(s) are stored on a distinct, secure server and made available to you as encrypted PDF files. The PDF files are password-protected to guard against tampering. Because of the enhanced encryption and security settings, you need Adobe Reader version 5 or later to view and print your certificate(s).

Internet Data Encryption

All of the personal and financial information that you send to - and receive from - this Web site is securely encrypted to guard against interception and alteration of the data. This site uses the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology and the strongest level of encryption available in modern browsers - 128-bit. When you are connected to a secure page, a small lock icon appears in your browsers status bar. Note that a secure Web site address begins with "https://" rather than the usual http:// protocol. Older browsers (and some current browsers distributed outside of North America) may only support 40-bit encryption. For your protection, these browser versions must be upgraded before they can interact with this site. The pages are optimized for Internet Explorer 8.0 or higher.

Digital Certificate

The digital certificate on this site verifies that you are dealing with Aon and no one else at this Web address. Digital certificates are issued by trusted Certificate Authorities who authenticate the site owner. To view our digital certificate in Internet Explorer, double-click the lock icon located in the status bar.

Inactivity Timeout

For your security, login sessions expire after about 20 minutes of inactivity. That is, if an extended period passes since the last time you clicked a button or navigated to one of the sites pages, you’ll be returned to the login page where you must re-enter your user ID and password. This reduces the chance that someone could access your information if you are called away from the computer without closing the browser or clicking the Sign Out link. To avoid an inactivity timeout, make sure you have the necessary information at hand as you work, or simply refresh the page.

Pop-Ups, Plug-ins and JavaScript

This Web site does not use pop-up windows, ActiveX controls or Java plugs-ins. However, to view and print PDF documents, you need to download and install the free Adobe Reader. The Web pages require the use of JavaScript in the browser, a feature that is enabled by default. If you are getting errors or having problems accessing pages, check whether overly restrictive browser security settings have disabled client-side scripting support.

Cookie Use

To use this site, cookies must be enabled in your browser. The use of a temporary or "in memory" cookie lets us store your login credentials as you browse, and to track your completed steps in the renewal process. No personal or private data is stored on your computer as a persistent (text file) cookie.
